How to make correction in Aadhaar card details online

Hello Dosto,

Aadhaar card is one of the most important documents in India. The card consists of a 12-digit number issued by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to the residents of India after satisfying the verification process laid down by the Authority. The Aadhaar card contains several important information of the citizen such as name, age, address, photo and more.

An Aadhaar card is a primary identification document that is used across the country for numerous purposes. But what if any detail on your Aadhaar card is wrong? Correcting any detail on your Aadhaar card is not a difficult task and can be done online. If you want to know how to make a correction in Aadhaar card, you can follow these steps:

  1. Visit Aadhaar self-service update portal - https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/ssup-home. The website can be accessed on any browser.
  2. Login by using your Aadhaar number and OTP received on your registered mobile number.
  3. Click on ‘Update Aadhaar Online’ option.
  4. Click on ‘Proceed to update Aadhaar’.
  5. From the page, select the details on which you want to make a correction and click on ‘Proceed to update Aadhaar.’
  6. Now you will be able to see the details that are currently on your Aadhaar card. Make the correction that you wish to make in the dialogue box of each detail.
  7. Share the scanned copy of documents that can support the correction made by you.
  8. Pay Rs 50 online update fee. You can make the payment through credit/debit card or net banking. This amount is non-refundable. In case of payment failure, you can retry the payment.
  9. You will obtain a Service Request Number (SRN) as a reference. Preserve this number to track the update request or for any future communication with UIDAI helpdesk.

Once you make a correction request, your request will be verified by our internal quality check operators. At this stage provided demographics data will be checked against the supporting document. If there is a mismatch, your request is likely to be rejected

On completion of the quality check process, you will receive an SMS notification containing the Enrolment ID. Normally update requests are completed within 30 days with 90% service standards. You can check the status of the request processing by visiting myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
